Movie: Over the Irish Sea

How do you get all these great movies, you ask? Often by taking three or four and keeping one. But sometimes you need to see all three (or, in this case, four) to really get the sense of things. Here I was trying to get Felix to sing his most recent song, yet another he has learned at school (or so I assume), and brought home to infect our brains. May infect yours, too.

1st try:

2nd try:

3rd try:

Final try:

Good enough!

Movie: Felix dresses himself

You never know what you'll find when you open the bathroom door these days. His request for a movie of him opening the toilet lid and then closing it on his pee pee is not one I plan to fulfill.

Felix Bits: What is a...

Increasingly Felix asks what things are, in increasing complexity. I'm going to start to collect them. Today's is:

What is a career?

Felix in the merry month of May

It's been a good month for you, Felix. Lots of time with good friends, a visit from Saba, and no shortage of novel experiences! Love ya big guy!

Movie: Felix graduates!

In a bid to save us millions of dollars in educational cost, we decided Felix can just graduate from "Mouse" class at his daycare and skip that whole college thing.

Movie: Life's little surprises

Gideon bears a perpetual expression of surprise. Not, I think, unwarranted.

Little brother or no, Felix keeps on going!

Movie: Hungry Gideon

He's like a terrier with a rat. Thank goodness no teeth.

Which leads us to an interesting question: should we use a pacifier this time? We did with Felix, and it was a powerful tool for sure. But we suffered for many, many nights when Felix awoke, missed his pacifier, and cried to have it replaced. Many, many, many nights. And, too, it has affected his dental development, though with the pacifier gone that matter is fixing itself. Gideon is not (yet) a terribly challenging baby, but all babies offer certain conundrums.

I love how quickly they develop.

Compare with Felix at the same day-old age.

Meeting Gideon

Born the 11th of May, Gideon Morel Shuldiner. An easy delivery, an easy boy.

Apologies to those who have received late notice (or no notice yet at all). As easy as this child has been, we do now have two, and it shows.

Movie: Play Ball!

Our garage came complete with a tennis ball hanging from a string, the idea being that when the ball contacts your windshield it's time to stop the car, unless, of course, you want to crush the dryer. Felix and I discovered, in those long days when Talia and the station wagon were at work, that this ball could also be used to play tennis (though actually Felix thinks of it as baseball, since he's seen that played but not tennis). Now that Talia is at home we have to move the car out in order to get in a quick inning, but it's worth it: he loves it and I'm gratified to see how quickly he's gotten good at smacking the ball.
