Movie: Klompen

Remember our little Dutch boy? We left the Netherlands behind, but we took the clogs (or, as the Dutch call them, klompen), and now, with the help of a pair of rubber bands holding them on his fat feet, Gideon's using them too:

Guest starring Shannon!

Movie: Intro to Glubbuh

Time to bond, little boy. Felix, as you no doubt know, bonded many a year ago to his "lubbah" (which is what you get when you try to say "lovey" with a palate only partially formed) and we quickly noted how useful it was, if one naps sitting up as children so often do, to carry around a neck pillow. So now we've chosen a similar product and introduced it to Gideon. Will he bond? Looks like a good start....

NOTE: The word "Glubbuh" has not been agreed upon by anyone, much less Gideon, so don't get used to it.

Movie: Dragonsong

Our house is full of music. Looooong video, so feel free, like me, to do something else while listening.

Perhaps I should have mentioned (?) this is 100% made up in his little head.

Movie: Blackberrying

My recollection is that Felix at this age was always careful to eat the ripest berries before going on to the less ripe ones, and that he would not eat the green ones. Gideon, on the other hand, eats them all, and, a bit disconcertingly, isn't even fazed by thorns.

Movie: Angry Birds

Took me a while to figure out that's what they were playing.

Movie: Recent reading

Relieved to discover that Gideon's ripping-pages-in-books phase was very short-lived (as opposed to some older brothers whom I could name but won't).

Movie: Chicken

And this one illustrates why you don't want to eat dinner at or house, either.

Movie: An angel on each shoulder

Should I be good or should I be bad? Should I be good or should I be bad?

Movie: Boys at play

This movie is interesting for a few reasons. Most important, it shows the boys playing together, which is, as every parent knows, about the nicest thing your children can do for you. Secondarily, note the large scrape on Gideon's forehead: he came home from his first day of preschool with that beauty. Finally, this movie shows the Gid not only walking but even doing a little bit of running. Go boys, go!

The Eagle and the Buffalo

The first day of a new (pre)school year! Felix is now officially an Eagle, and Gideon is starting as a Buffalo, apt appellations both.

Felix, as shown, was quite sweet about leading Gideon into his new habitat (wrong door, but we worked that out later), and Gideon, as expected, dove right in: he's been begging to be left at daycare for months now, had to call after him to get even a wave bye bye.

Movie: All in a day's work

I love how totally unmoved he is by his slips and slides as he negotiates this ladder. All in a day's work.
